Apologies…The Mr Unavailable and the Fallback Girl delay

July 10, 2008 by NML

Dear Fallback Girls et al,

I wanted to apologise for the book not coming out on Tuesday as expected. I have been unwell and it’s taken me a bit longer than necessary to get back up to speed as quite frankly, I’m exhausted! As so many of you get in touch with me and also keep me informed of your goings ons, I want to do the same to you.

I am so sorry to have disappointed readers with another delay but you can be assured, that on Monday 14th July, the book will be available to download (I am trying to sort print but that may take a bit longer).

I have discovered in this process that I am a bit of a perfectionist and that I am probably trying to do too much when you combine a one year old baby with a penchant for needing my attention just as I’m pulling apart assclowns for the book, plus I run two other blogs about baby products that run 90 posts a week, amongst several other things including my consultancy work, and my body seems to have said that enough is enough! After having quite bad food poisoning, my body has taken much longer to get back on track, and it’s because I’m run down and ignoring my body’s request for rest.

My body is screaming “NML! I know you love talking about assclowns but I need some frickin’ rest!

You may also have received an email from me this week saying that there will be a delay in responses to advice queries which there has been an extremely large volume of. Please be patient with me and I will get on top of everything, although the book is number one priority so that I can help even more of you.

Normal service will resume next week and have a great weekend

Love

NML x

    Dear NML,
Please take good care of yourself - rest, take a break, and don’t worry about us !

Food poisoning hurts and can be exhausting for a week or more — ((empathy))
Let alone having a baby - it is amazing you have time to post at all, let alone get a book published !!!

We are so happy with what you post, and it should be fun for you - not a back-breaker where you feel guilty.

You have lots on your plate - it is VERY okay to pace yourself for what feels comfortable. Ohterwise you may burn out and feel resentful.

The book will be ready when the book will be ready, and we understand.

If another few weeks or a month goes by before it is published, we’ll still love what is in it !
We can contain our impatience, and have respect for your needs for healing and recuperation.

Your health is the most important thing of all. And then the baby.
The rest is a gift to us - of your brain and ability and kindness.
When you feel up to it.
You are perfect just as you are :)

    Genuinely,
    Loving Annie

NML, I ditto all of these sentiments–we will wait patiently and look forward to your words of wisdom! Please don’t feel guilty, your priority is yourself and your family! Take care.

Whoever said women are weak, certainly didn’t know any working mother…

Take all the time you need NML and then some more. In the meantime, we’ll give the clowns a false sense of security before we hit them with your book (I’m planning on hardcover it! )

    Hope you get better soon.

    N,
I echo the sentiments above. Hope your bf is doing his share with the babe! And the house, meals, etc. Because that is something we females have an issue with (or our society puts it on us and we often buy into–thinking the babies and the house are our jobs alone.) Don’t try to do everything–that’s a lie for anyone–females or males. I think until women and men have equality at home then we ain’t got equality. That said, your bf might be fabulous and doing his share and more. If that’s the case, then be glad, get better by taking good care of yourself!
What you’re doing is huge and you’re launching this on your own–you’re a model to all women in that regard. Now give the bambino to her daddy and put in a good DVD and drink lots of fluids! We’ll get the book when YOU have it ready and not anytime before then!
Lots of healing thoughts are coming your way as you can see. Take care!
