First Loves

We all have that one person in our hearts that was our first love. Sometimes, first love relationships end up being lifetime friendships, and other times, the relationship doesn’t work out.

I think that it’s essential to have a first love because then you can fully appreciate the guy you end up with.
With your first love, you are innocent, no taint of hopelessness involved whatsoever. The jaded cynic hasn’t emerged and everything is new as dawn, like a fresh flower. The world is sweet and everything is going on well.
When and if you guys break up, this is the love that leaves you a changed person. This is the one that helps you make decisions on how you live the rest of you life. This is the one that you use as a template for all your other relationships.
Your first love is forever immortalised in your mind as the guy/girl that opened your heart and showed you the infinite possibilities of romance.
The first love represents a threat to your future relationships if not dealt with correctly. After all, if you use the Adonis template in your head to measure every other guy you meet from here on out, you might end up dissing a really great guy. We’ve all heard stories about people that were married/together, who ended up leaving their current partner for their first love.
Recognize the faults in your first love and don’t make the same mistakes again. It is only then that you can learn from your own personal dating history to become a better lover.
