Server Problems!

Apologies if you’ve been experiencing problems accessing Baggage Reclaim over the past very long couple of hours. My host 1and1 internet (supposed to be biggest and best in the world!) can only be described as flaky…and annoying… The problem at their end has been resolved…for now…

NML, Hosting issues really cut into enjoying life. I remember a host 9 years ago, that called me for suggestions how to get their server back up. I spent an hour and a half on the phone, making me late for a draft horse auction I wanted to attend (they only came around twice a year!).
I have been self-hosting now since 2004, I guess, with DAThorn.com, and several commercial sites that I also host. Coming from the ‘creative’ host (USA something from Florida), SBC, and Earthlink, I treasure the improved reliability. Performance - access to my account, flexibility to make changes, and surprisingly, speed. DAThorn isn’t a host - they provide hosting services to host resellers. There are some nitty setups and account creation things you do, some monitoring, and the kind of support your host gets, so I can’t claim they are for everyone.
It was reading someone else’s praise that brought me to DAThorn. It works well for me.
As for biggest and best - biggest rotates around weekly, and ‘best’ varies as widely as claiming the ‘best’ spouse. YMMV
