A name like Seduction Central conjures up a variety of images so I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it wasn’t full of rubber and whips! Instead it’s a blog about the astrology of love, sex and relationships written by Jeffrey Kishner, a licensed psychotherapist and practising astrologer based in New York City.
I very rarely read my horoscopes and know very little about astrology, despite being given several books, and my only reservation about the subject, is that I come across readers all the time who place a lot of stock in astrology as a way to keep them pursuing something that’s not working.
The great thing about Seduction Central is that it’s a combination of tongue-in-cheek and more complex, detailed posts for the serious astrology aficionados. A recent post ‘How to get your Scorpio man to propose?’ had me in stitches laughing from the first tip “Come from a wealthy family. Scorpio has an incentive to marry into money, because then he gets half. Don’t ask him to sign a pre-nup — he will feel you don’t trust him (which you don’t), and he won’t get his share of the booty after the divorce.”
I recoiled in horror when I saw the crude title ‘How to Make the Taurus Man Leave Her’ which suggests that he is the least likely guy to leave his girlfriend and that she should go for an available man. What concerns me is that there are 12 zodiac signs, so surely it’s only a matter of time before a strategy is provided for the star sign that is most likely to leave?
Other posts like ‘Are Libras unfaithful?’ bring comments from readers with funny generalisations such as ” My husbands a Libra and he’s been unfaithful. He’s a Libra Sun and Asc, he has no aspects to Venus and his Venus is in Sag…..of course I’m assuming that not ALL Libras are unfaithful, but any I’ve known have been quite ‘social’ and I believe all but 1 had a tendency to stray. (That we know of.)”
The blog would benefit from a cleaner template (very loud pink and purple), more explanatory site title (good for search engines too), and a logo that clearly shows and explains what the blog is about. The links to the star sign categories don’t stand out enough with all of the text links around them and could do with more defined navigation.
Seduction Central is clearly geared towards women with much of the content geared to understanding guys, snaring, keeping and getting a guy to propose from an astrology perspective. Can we really base how we approach a man or a dating situation on the stars and put so much faith in cosmic intervention? But then again, with a name like Seduction Central, how he approaches his subject matter is spot on. It’s really the astrology of seduction and sex, because ultimately we need to rise above seduction for a deeper connection for lasting love and relationships.
Jeffrey Kishner and I approach dating and relationships from polar opposites and that’s not a bad thing. I do commentary and practical hands-on advice and Jeffrey specialises in seduction, and there is a difference. If you’re into your stars and astrology then Seduction Central is a must visit site. Just don’t lose your common sense, free will, and ability to make your own judgment. And remember that men can cheat and be unavailable regardless of their star sign!

The chinese zodiac is based on recurring 12 year cycles. One sign is ‘the year of the dragon’, another ‘the year of the rat’. And, no, I don’t think all unfaithful men are born in the year of the rat, rats have a different spiritual connotation in the Chinese zodiac. Check your placemat in better Chinese restaurants if you don’t believe me.
According to the Chinese, compatible signs are 4 years older or younger, least compatible are same age or 6 years older or younger.
Astrology seems to be more accurate for people that believe it is accurate. But it also seems to work a bit for everyone else, too. Like any other system of stereotypes, using the birth sign to predict actions and motivations will be partly successful some part of the time. At least, that is what I have found. For me, the warnings about least-compatible signs seem pretty accurate.

Thank you for your honest assessment. Rest assured that I do not support infidelity or breaking apart relationships, and that when I address queries about these subject matters, I often use humor (however dry) to dissuade readers from unethical actions. Astrology is complex, and yes, people born under any Sun sign can cheat. Unfortunately, all too often readers find my blog through such questions.
