My husband of not even 2 years announced to me this evening that he wants a divorce. I went on the internet looking for I don’t know what – answers? I found some real gems in this article. I’ve just spent the last several years trying to make him happy, and the years before him trying to make other men happy. You know what? I didn’t make any of them happy, and now I am miserable. Time to turn the focus on me – if I can even remember who that is! How do you find yourself again, after having left yourself behind so LONG ago?

What was said in this article… “Take the focus off him and put it back on you” is probably THE most important thing for women who have had failed relationships to remember. I am a 100% example of someone who did not take the advice given here and I have paid for it, lots of times! Focusing on me is THE only way I’ll ever attract a healthy relationship. And no matter how loney I get now, I am so determined to do just that!
Have any of you ever heard that you attract to you what you are on the inside? It is so, so, so true. When you are unhappy and feeling needy or desparate for a relationship.. you will attract those men who cannot and will not give it to you.

The old saying we’ve heard so many times… “You cannot love anyone else until you love yourself.” is true. Be strong, focus on your own happiness, live life to the fullest and live without waiting for the next relationship.

Hey guys really good stuff here seriously!!! You kind of write about stuff that any rational and logical person would already know but sometimes u slip up n u need to be reminded of the rational way of thinking!!!

I love this site – I credit your blogs with saving my sanity.

Having recently ended a 2 1/2 year relationship (which came after a 7 1/2 year relationship) I am slowly coming to terms with life and men and dating and all the paranoia and insecurities that come with it.

Every time I read your site, it reminds me that I;m not ready to commit to someone else yet. I’m working on having a loving and committed relationship with myself at the moment. It’s fun, I’m discovering things about this person that I didn’t know existed.

Thanks for reminding me, oh so subtly, that the greatest relationship you can have is with your little ole self!
