It's a good thing that you listened to your sixth sense. He most definitely was not a good fit for you. Sometimes we tend to get attached to people just because they are around us all the time.

Great article. I dated a "Nice guy" a mechanical engineer -- but he did go neanderthal on me after 6 months. As usual, was madly infatuated with me in the beginning, but by the time we got through 4 months, he began doing not much more than wanting to sit on the couch and grunts for conversation.

When I finally asked him what was up and what his feelings were, he said, "well, I think you are a great girl, but I just don't have feelings of love for you." I finally got it out of him that he felt that if we stayed together I would resent him because I am a social person and he is a loner. The fact was, he was right...I had noticed the pattern that he didn't have any real passion for anything. Seemed to just sit around. Didn't have anything going on. I am an artist, lots of friends, always into something. He could see we were on entirely different wavelengths.

It just pissed me off that it felt like he rejected me when it shoulda been vice-verrsa. I told him I didn't want to see him again and the scary thing was -- I didn't even miss him!!! I couldn't believe I spent 6 months with a guy and didn't shed a tear or feel bad when it was over.
