What the Most Desirable Women Know That I Don’t
March 10, 2006 by Annie Dennison
AskMen.com released its list of the Top 99 Most Desirable Women of 2006. And I just went through all 99 of ‘em. Conspicuously absent from the list are Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and Katie Holmes. Although Tom’s other famous exes, Nicole Kidman (#96) and Penelope Cruz (#32), are both there.
Looking at the pictures, I wondered, “What do these 99 most desirable women have that I don’t have?” Physical beauty that cameras and millions of men love, that’s what. But I can’t help but think that these special ladies must have that little somethin’ extra. So I hunted down some of their pearls of wisdom to pass on to you.
Let’s start at the bottom of the list. Here’s tennis bombshell Anna Kournikova (#99) on feeling good about herself, and being clean:
“I am beautiful, famous and gorgeous. I could have any man in the world.”
“Boyfriends have to understand my needs. I shower four times a day.”
And speaking of how boyfriends should treat you, this is what Nicole Kidman (#96) believes:
“Boyfriends need to understand that if women are worshipped, the world will be a better place.”
Going through the list of 99, I noted that quite a few of these women have gotten involved with non-worshipping, sometimes philandering men, and have been through their fair share of bad breakups and divorces.
But having a man isn’t everything, which is good, because actress Halle Berry (#19), one of the sexiest women ever in my opinion, keeps picking dogs for mates. Here’s what she’s decided:
“The man for me is the cherry on the pie. But I’m the pie and my pie is good all by itself. Even if I don’t have a cherry.”
Still, sometimes I forget that just because you’re gorgeous and desirable doesn’t mean that you’ll be any luckier in love than the rest of womankind. Surrounded by the most desirable men, you might actually make bad choices.
Classy actress Catherine Zeta-Jones (#67) names the problem that she sees all around her:
“There are a lot of women who live with pot-bellied pigs.”
Although “Charmed” TV star Alyssa Milano (#64) doesn’t get drawn to pot-bellied pigs, she does make bad choices in love:
“I’ve dated the sweet mama’s boy, the musician rocker, the struggling artist — basically a lot of people without jobs.”
And on the subject of bad choices, let’s not forget America’s favorite wronged girl-next-door, Jennifer Aniston (#27):
“I couldn’t have found a better man than Brad. He still opens doors for me and brings me flowers. He’s the sweetest goofball on the planet.”
Model/TV host Brooke Burke (#43) may be on to something when she shifts our focus away from the usual body parts that draw us to the wrong men:
“I like feet. I definitely have a fetish. I love to see a man’s bare foot, but it’s got to be taken care of. If they’re not well manicured, you’ve got to wonder what the rest of him is like. I don’t want to get in bed with somebody and feel his gnarly feet.”
And speaking of body parts, the 99 Most Desirable Women come in all colors and cup sizes. Here’s the petite Eva Longoria (#10) of “Desperate Housewives” fame on having a positive body image:
“I would much rather have a butt than boobs.”
While buxom “Ghost Whisperer” actress Jennifer Love Hewitt (#53) complains:
“Women are constantly asking me who my doctor is and referring to my chest. I don’t understand what everyone’s obsession with boobs is about. Every other person in the world has a pair.”
It must be hard, being that desirable. And buxom.
And I wonder how these women deal with aging in the public eye, other than getting plastic surgery and Botox injections. Here’s actress Cameron Diaz’ (#91) thoughts on the subject:
“I’ve been noticing gravity since I was young.”
Now, don’t jump to the conclusion that these 99 women are all about looks and attracting men. They have other interests and aspirations, and I think that must make them even more desirable.
For example, here’s one of Catherine Zeta-Jones’ (#67) lesser-known aspirations:
“I’d love to do a show in Vegas with drag queens. The tackier the better.”
Jennifer Love Hewitt (#53) also has shared one of her turn-ons in life:
“I like to watch men beating the crap out of each other.”
And “No Doubt” singer Gwen Stefani (#31) has acknowledged the following:
“I want to be a guy, but I want to wear a lot of makeup.”
When it comes right down to it, the 99 most desirable women, like all women, still have to do a balancing act in life. And sometimes it can get overwhelming, especially if you’re doing it alone. That must explain why the fabulously wealthy, booty-licious Beyonce (#50) said:
“The more successful I become, the more I need a man.”
On the subject of being desirable, but perhaps unbalanced, actress and bad girl Angelina Jolie (#3) shares her secret for keeping it all together:
“If I didn’t have films as an outlet for all the different sides of me, I would probably be locked up.”
Wondering who’s at the top of AskMen.com’s 99 Most Desirable Women of 2006 list? That would be TV and film star, Jessica Alba, who is a great-looking woman. And here’s a piece of her little somethin’ extra:
“Most nights I end up wearing a wife beater T-shirt and boxers.”
I think that says it all.
