Just politely told a man I didn’t not want to have another drink with him (after a night of him persistently trying to get me in bed, and telling me all about his cash – no other topics of conversation, really). He told me that he was glad I didn’t want to see him, as he didn’t want to see me anyway. Doesn’t hurt at all. Made me laugh. Also, makes me feel good, practising ‘safe’ rejection. Normally, in such situations, I’d spend far longer trying to make sure they were OK, maybe even going on a few dates just to preserve their ego, and then making it far more dramatic than the pissy little text I just received!
Loved hearing about your transformation over the last 5 years. I’ve never read your blogs, but your video inspired me to do so. I am in the same phase as you were 5 years ago and I am learning to take care of myself and to tryst myself. I hope that by reading your blog, I will deepen my own awareness and continue to understand what makes me happy. 🙂

This site was such a godsend to find when I was so lost.
I have now gotten so clear on how to easily and painlessly deal with assinine behavior in all walks of life. As a bonus, my understanding of the need to recognize boundaries and seek approval and well deserved validation only from within, has made me better able to counsel friends who seek my advice as they encounter all kinds of variations of assclownitus.

Natalie – There are students and there are teachers and you are a great teacher, because you still remember what it is to be a student. This site provides a voice and a community for women who have lost their way. Our wake up calls come in the form of bad relationships with men but the problem really lives within ourselves. Your ability to communicate and teach through example has helped countless women begin to find their way back to themselves.
I have read somewhere in the comments on this site that one reader marvelled that she found more insight, compassion and support on this site than she ever did from the relationship she was in – a true testiment to the immeasurable value this site has. But also telling about ourselves. It is likely we are more honest here, because of the anonimity and the supportive tone, than we ever were in our relationships. We were hiding, morphing and trying to be what he wanted, so he would choose us. Thank you, Natalie, for providing a safe place where we can start being ourselves and for providing the loving guidance to help us on our journeys.

Since I’ve found your page a year ago, my life has changed in very important ways. I opened my eyes. Of course at first I didn’t like what I saw-letting myself to be mistreated and over depending on men’s affection…But your words kept reminding me, to seek for the actions not words and to trust my own guts. After some time I have finally decided to let go of a self-distructing behaviour and start to treat myself with respect, without waiting on men to do it first, becouse that is just not possible. I have also realise, that this self-improving, taking good care of myself is a process, better say attitude, that should never end. One should remain wakeful to yourself. I still turn to your page and posts and I read them on daily basis. I’m begining to understand how does ‘the self-security’ truely feels and I’m not quiting it for nothing and nobody!
