I’m too exhausted to say very much (there’s a first!) but wanted to share with you all that yesterday we got married and had the most amazing day with our family and friends who came from far and wide to eat, get completely hammered and dance their socks off. The love, support and well wishes we have received, not just from our guests, but from my readers (just see here and here as an example) has been mind-blowing and humbling.
I should also add that the M&M’s were a gift from BR reader Becky who I met in Orlando last year. How fabulous are they?!
We are truly blessed, and I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for over 6.5 years of you being part of my journey and look forward to being there for you all in the future. My husband (that’s the first time I’ve written that!) is fast asleep on the sofa with his glasses about to fall off and the remote in his hand. I’m grinning widely.

Of course, it’s really a “happy beginning,” but close enough. I wish you all the happiness.
I wonder how this might affect the “fire in your belly” about relationships. In my case, I had near-infinite passion for awhile, but as I’ve found love again I’ve felt some of that fire dissipate into something vaguely resembling mellowness. 🙂
But whatever the case, finding true love is always the right course. May Hallmark forgive me. 😉

started reading your blog last summer — actually a year to the week. i am a different person now because of you, your writing, your stories, your insights. thank you thank you.
many readers call you a rock. me too. i hope our strength strengthens you.
i realized that i was a fallback girl in every aspect of my life, negotiating for crumbs of affection and recognition. recreating the emotional unavailability of my dad and cowering under the rage of my mom in the workplace, in my business dealings, in my friendships — frenemies all — in my family. in my relationships with men — a fantasy space in which i dreamt of and sought a new world with all the old patterns, habits, seeking after all to right a wrong and prove my worth by being in a relationship. only able to grumble my dissatisfactions under my breath and even then as though asking permission.
i think that i can see all of that for what it is and walk beyond it. with your help. and all that i’m inspired to do and think about and also stop doing etc. recovery processes are complex, of course so… it’s slow and complicated. but i feel great!! compared to a year.
and i am just celebrating your great news and joining in your excitement and certainty and clarity and love and joy. i say it all the time — love care trust and respect. the hallmarks not the landmarks. and also that these are the basics.
