Just a quick pitstop to say happy new year everyone! Some of you are already in 2010! Hope you had a good one! Whatever you’re doing, enjoy yourself or just breathe out and relax. Don’t spend the evening waiting for a call or getting stood up or disappointed – you’re nobody’s backup!
Thank you all for your continued support and I look forward to being there for you in 2010 and beyond!
It’s been an incredible journey for me, not just this year, but the past decade. I’m still me, but I’m not the person filled with a lot of pain and self dislike that I was at the start – you can see my sum up of the decade over on my old personal blog. I started out tangled up in assclowns and unavailability, but it’s safe to say that that part of my life is behind me.
Stay strong, take care of you, and always remember that if loving someone means that you can’t love you, alwayschoose you.
I’m not big on new years resolutions but a new year and a new decade, could, and should signal a fresh start. It’s time to embrace you, enjoy life, and exhale. Let go of the anger, the pain, the illusions, and work your way through it to the other side. Check out yesterday’s post on how you’ll be approaching love and relationships.
And…I have some good news. Tomorrow, I’ll be announcing how you can get your hands on my new No Contact Rule ebook which was written in response to so many questions about how to cut contact, why it’s necessary and effective, especially when you’ve had little or no boundaries, and how to maintain it.
On 31st January, How To Lose an Assclown in 90 Days will be available to buy. Yes, finally! Around the same time, if not before, Mr Unavailable and The Fallback Girl will be available in print.
I apologise for the delay in the books. Babies and nasty run of being unwell kicked my ass! The lessons of the decade are, assclowns and Mr Unavailables are bad for you and I’m not superwoman!
Lots of exciting things happening next year, see you then, love Natalie/NML xxx
NML thanks for all your insight. Looking forward to reading your posts in 2010.

Happy New Year! I wish I had the patience you do to write the things that happened in the last decade. I just may spend New Year’s Day attempting it. Hugs to your family, may you continue to find the joy in your life.

Natalie,
I don’t know how to express my thanks to you in putting together this wonderful website. I’ve been relying on it heavily for spiritual support. Though not a 100% recovered still, I am definitely a stronger and wiser woman. Thanks for sharing your insight.

I just discovered that my ex MM has sent his new year greetings to everyone in our social circle except me. Well, what else do I expect? Just move on ladies!!!

I just realised that the reason I had such a fantastic time last night at the 2 New Year’s Eve parties I went to (yes 2!) was because for the first time ever I wasn’t thinking about a man – I was just there, me, happy with my friends and able to really relax and have a good time.
Thank you NML – I think a lot of that is down to this site.

I’d like to join in the chorus here…. Natalie, I don’t know if you realize what a gift you’ve given to so many women! Personally, you’ve helped me see and understand my self-destructive patterns in relationships — and in doing so, have made it possible for me to move beyond being a hapless victim into someone who won’t take shit from anyone anymore! I’m looking forward to eventually having a happy, healthy relationship, once I tend more to my own issues….
A very, very happy new year to you and your family, and to all the wonderful women on this site!

I would like to be considered for a free copy of the new E Book. Happy New You to all! It has been quite a journey learning to love and be good to myself.

I need this book for reminding me to just stay away,
My latest debacle was that a guy who went on three dates with, then texts me 9 days later (which I responded 2 days later and not engaging), then calls me another 10 days later but does not leave a message, and then ignores me at a new years party. Then, my friend who is a mutual friend called him out for not talking to me, he said he was in a conversation (which is total BS).
My tears were wasted on some jackass who is too immature to even be civil at a party.

I’ve been running Baggage Reclaim since September 2005, and I’ve spent many thousands of hours writing this labour of love. The site has been ad-free the entire time, and it costs hundreds of pounds a month to run it on my own. If what I share here has helped you and you’re in a position to do so, I would love if you could make a donation. Your support is so very much appreciated! Thank you.
